As they make their way through their first season, the girls wrestling team takes on Holt High school on Jan 29. Holt showed to be a tough opponent, overcoming the Spartans with a final score of 43-18.
“I always strive to fight my hardest in matches for my team snd for myself,” Junior Mary Kate Neal says, “so even if I am losing I try and fight with what I have for however long I’m on the mat.” Neal suffered a nose bleed during her match, but continued to wrestle despite the interruption.
The team takes on the Class 4 District tournament starting Feb 7, becoming the first FHC girls wrestling team to earn this accomplishment.
