Connor Crites: My favorite photo
This composite picture of the solar eclipse is my favorite photo of the year. I put a lot of time and effort into this bad-boy.
This is my favorite photo of the year because of how rare this event was. A week beforehand I had to purchase a solar filter, so my camera wouldn’t break when I pointed it at the sun, and I managed to buy the last one in stock at the store. On the day of the eclipse, I set up a tripod and pointed it at the sun, and took one photo for every minute of the solar eclipse. This was difficult because I had to adjust the camera every few minutes, because the sun is very fast (apparently). Once I captured all of the phases, I picked the phases that best represented the eclipse in its entirety, and composited them together using photoshop. Overall, I am very proud of this photo, and I’m willing to bet that this is my best photo of the year.
