Mrs. LaRue lecturing her freshman Pre-AP English I class

Mrs. LaRue

Senior Jacob Edwards appreciates Mrs. LaRue for her genuine love for all her students

Mrs. Larue might have one of the toughest teaching jobs there is. Not because her class is super hard, but because she teaches Pre-AP English to the freshman, the kids who are new to the school. She has to teach them the basics of high school English, and help prepare them for what will come later in high school. Not only that, but she has to put up with all the awkward freshman immaturity while they adjust to high school (No disrespect to the freshmen, but I’ve been there. It’s true). Yet somehow, she takes it all in and is able to be a happy, positive, and bright part of an otherwise hectic freshman year. Not only that, but she is there for her former students as well. It has been 3 or so years since I have taken her class, yet every time I’ve seen her in the hall since then, she has greeted me kindly, like I am still in her class. She genuinely cares about all of her students, and she was the first teacher in high school that really showed me that. Any student would be lucky to have her, because she is not only an amazing teacher, but an amazing person as well.
