Last Tuesday, the girls volleyball team played the Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars here at home. After practice and before the game, everyone rose for the National Anthem.

Unfortunately the radio shorted out and would not play our countries anthem. Jokingly, two freshman volleyball girls, Tynshisha Mcfarland and Tyler Anderson, started singing it alone, which led to their team and the varsity team joining in. Shortly, the whole gym had had started singing the anthem as well, which started the game off on an uplifting high note.

In the first minute of the first game Central scored the first point, a strong spike. Central was determined to steal the win, and the first game was won 25-14, and the second 25-13.

“They’ve got some pretty good chemistry, that’s important,” Coach Mark McAfee said.
