Boys basketball loses first GAC South game

Spartans fall to Troy in conference season opener

On Friday, Jan. 9 the boys basketball team played Troy at Francis Howell Central, in the first conference game of the season. In a close game the Spartans played the Trojans and fell to them 54-47.

From the first tip off  the boys started off slow and could not get momentum going throughout the rest of the game. Although they loss, Marc Crawford had a 15-point game, leading the Spartan scorers and Jaylen Ray led the rebounders with 12.

“We have a lot of talent and a lot of hard workers on the team and that makes us all better and why I feel we will be successful next time we play Troy,” said junior Cameron Lundberg.
