A disappointing loss at districts
In the chilly night of Oct. 25, the Spartan varsity soccer team was ready to take on districts against the Fort Zumwalt North Panthers, that ended in a 1-0 loss. The game started out fine, fair, and fearless. However, the night took some twists and turns.
Some people watching the game complained the referee was completely unfair to the team of the Spartans by allowing the Panthers to shove their opponents multiple times during gameplay without the instances being called out.
“A lot of people were extremely angry with the referee,” said Will Pierce.
As the night of the districts passed, one could hear the shouts of vexation and rage coming from the stands. As the game was coming to its final end, it led to a defeat of 1-0.
“We played hard, but we didn’t get the result that we wanted,” said senior Jared Strange.
