The girls basketball team was hosted by the Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars on Jan. 20. The Spartans fought hard, while avoiding a rowdy student section and a tough Zumwalt West team.

The Spartans came out on top 56-32, being a close game most of the time, expanding the small gap between points in the fourth period.

“I think we started off really fast paced and up-tempo, which got us going quick in the beginning of the game. Overall, it was a great team effort. Lauren Ebert kind of pushed us for 17 points so that helped out a lot. In the end, the team came together as one and we ended up winning,” senior guard Mackinsey Hamer said.
