Eight wrestlers competed in the Missouri state tournament Feb. 16-18 at Mizzou Arena. Four of the boys placed in their weight classes including senior Jackson Berck and sophomores Corey Wait, Andrew Godier, and Jonathan Floyd. Berck placed 2nd at 220 lbs., Wait placed 3rd at 138 lbs., Godier placed 4th at 126 lbs., and Floyd placed 5th at 160 lbs.

Berck, one of the two team captains, had a controversial final match.

“I was just so excited, I couldn’t believe it. I knew I won, but going from the highest high to the lowest low is just devastating,” Berck said. “I walked out calm and that’s what I’m most proud of.”
