On Monday, April 16, the art department held their visual arts show, Black and Blue. Every piece had only one requirement: use the colors black and blue. Even with such simple requirements, the students took the assignment and ran. The Jazz Combo also performed with phenomenal solos from every member. For the past few years, the department had put on the Fine Arts Festival with special appearances from many other departments as well. Art teacher Mrs. Judy Switzer was worried that the festival was straying too far from its original visual arts focus.

“I wanted something more personal” Switzer said. “The {Festival} was getting to feel like planning a wedding. It took a whole year of planning and it was expensive.”

While the planning of this show had its challenges, it was still very successful, and it achieved Mrs. Switzer’s goal .
