The freshman volleyball team kicked off the season with an intense game on Thursday, Sept. 5. The girls were neck and neck with the girls of the Francis Howell North Knights, constantly fighting to take back and keep the lead. The Spartans won the first half of the game, but in the end, the teams came to a tie despite their best efforts, according to freshman Abby Money.

“I think we did better than we all thought we would, but we just got too in our heads and it messed with us in the end,” Money said. “But we fought.”

The team plans to continue playing hard, and their next game, against Troy, is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 17.
