On Sept. 16, the girls tennis team  competed in the conference play against Francis Howell North, where the team was defeated 7-2 in a tough match.

The team was going up against the best, North’s returning state champion, and the team had been trained well, but that didn’t discourage Central. Senior Elise Thomas said the team knew it was going to be a tough battle, but they were prepared for the battle ahead of them. Although they didn’t win there positives to come from this match.

“The match was really hard considering we were playing North one of the best teams we will ever play, but our girls have been playing really strongly against them and giving our best effort and that’s great,” said Elise Thomas
