The library is hosting an “I Love My Library” contest for the month of April, which is National Library Month. Any student can participate in the contest.
Any form of media or expression is accepted, including song, rap, poem, photo story and more, librarian Mrs. Joan Rigby said. The point of the project is to express what you love about your library, giving examples or things that people typically do not think about, she said.
Projects are due on a disc by 3:00 p.m. on April 27. Winners will be announced May 9. The first place winner will receive a new Apple iPad, and the second place winner will receive a 8 GB iPod Touch. Both of these will be loaded with the 2011-2012 Gateway Nominees.
The school code of conduct must be followed in every submission, and the library resources will be available to anyone seeking help on an entry. Open by request on a first-come, first-serve basis is the use of camcorders, computers, microphones, blank DVDs and DVD burner. All works must also be original, Mrs. Rigby said.
Fliers are available on the main table in the library, and any questions can be clarified by the library staff.
