Sheeran danced his way into my heart and on screen

Ed Sheeran is at it again, leaving me up in my feels for days. Not only did I almost cry when I first heard his song “Thinking Out Loud”, imagine my reaction when he released the music video for it. Let me tell you, emotional distress doesn’t even describe how I felt. I’ve never cried during a music video for how beautiful it was until Oct. 8, when the music video finally came out. It was fantastic, made me fall in love with the song all over again.

For me, I was not prepared when I clicked on the video, for what I was about to watch. Ed normally doesn’t star in his own music videos. He may be in a clip for a second, but he is not the main focus of the video. This time when I saw him walk into frame I was shocked. I don’t say that lightly. I couldn’t believe that it was him. Not only did he look slimmer, but he was dancing. I’m so used to how awkward he is with movements and such, that when I saw how graceful he was being I was taken back.

The girl in the video was an amazing dancer as well, her moves were smooth and she didn’t miss a beat. I don’t know if this was because they redid scenes or if they were just that good. Her white dress flowing behind her with every movement made her look even more graceful. She may be the reason that Ed looked as good as he did. They were wonderful together.

I thought that the music video would cut into some part about how they fell in love and what not. To my surprise it just stuck to them dancing alone in a ballroom together with a spotlight following them. It took my breath away watching it. There was a part when the were on the floor and he lifted her leg and acted like he was strumming a guitar. I thought it was so cute, and fitting with the song. Their dancing made me feel like I knew their entire love story. At least what I could see behind the tears that were pouring down my face.

I have watched this music video at least 15 or more times since Oct. 8, which was not too long ago. I just love this song. When he sings “That baby now, take me into your loving arms, kiss me under the light of a thousand stars, place your head on my beating heart, I’m thinking out loud, maybe we found love right where we are,” towards the end of the song gives me goose bumps. Not just because of the lyrics but the amount of emotion that he puts into his voice is crazy. It is almost as if he his putting his entire heart into it, it is beautiful.

That part in the video has to be my favorite, besides the end when they sit down together holding hands. Don’t worry that made my heart melt too, more than it really should have. Me being a huge Ed Sheeran fan, I was definitely not disappointed with the video, or the song. They just went well together. It was simple, yet effective considering my reaction to it.

I think that the fact that it is as simple as it is makes me like it so much. It wasn’t like a movie where I had to follow the plot, it showed love in a simple form without having a ton of actors try to do it for them. Every time I have watched the video it makes me want to fall in love. This video might not be his most over the top, cookie cutter music video; in my eyes it does explain not only the song well, but also him. I would recommend everyone watch this video. It isn’t your typical music video, it will leave you breathless. It is a real work of art.
