5 PC gaming stocking stuffers

Jake Roach, Staff Reporter

In the modern Christmas season, money is often substituted for gifts by request of the receiver, but most can’t deny the mutually beneficial feeling of giving a well thought out gift to someone. Below is a list of 5 items that will be perfect for any PC gamer.

  • A new mouse

A mouse is huge to a PC gamer, it’s their sword and shield, and a new updated version of a beat up old piece of gear is probably a welcome addition. Buyer beware that mouses are a very personal and particular thing to a PC gamer, so fishing for his preferences might be wise.
Here are some of my suggestions for mice:

Logitech G400

Corsair Raptor M45

  • A headset

If your fellow PC gamer indulges in players with friends of his then a headset is a necessity. Not only to communicate with other players in the game, but also to be totally drawn into the world in which he is playing. Headsets are a dime a dozen and many of them will do well for most PC gamers.

Here are some of my suggestions for headsets:

HyperX Cloud

Logitech G230

  • A webcam

Webcams might seem strange for a gamer, often associated with locking themselves in isolated places for hours on end, but they have become a highly sought after item in recent years. Due to the rise of streaming services such as Twitch TV, more gamers are now playing those games in isolated areas with people on the internet.

Here are some of my suggestions for webcams:

Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920

  • A Steam gift card

Steam is the standard platform for purchasing games for PC and, I know this one is kind of lame, but it really is a great stocking stuffer for PC gamers. Since the idea of a boxed game is a dead concept on PC, a Steam card makes perfect sense. Not to mention the great sales being run by Steam during the season. You can pick up Steam cards here:

  • A new keyboard

Words cannot describe how important a keyboard is, not only for gaming, but computer enthusiasts in general. With someone who is pounding away on keys hour after hour, the quality needs to be great. Much like mice, there are often particular preferences with keyboards.

Here are some of my suggestions:

Corsair K70

Rosewill RGB80 16.8 Million Colors Illuminated Mechanical
