On April 15, the wind ensemble received expert feedback from Dr. Kenneth Thompson (director – Bowling Green State University in Ohio) via Skype, who happens to be Mr. Andrew Messerli‘s former music teacher.

“The goal of clinics is to get an outside perspective and bring in people that are the absolute best in their field,” Mr. Messerli said.

Thanks to block scheduling, the group had plenty of time to play their songs and fully utilize Dr. Thompson’s feedback to improve their performance.

“Instead of the traditional 52 minutes where we’ll only get about 48 minutes or so with a clinician, we were able to go for almost a full 90 [minutes],” Mr. Messerli said.
