Spartan spirit soars through St. Louis
Pep rally is broadcast by Fox 2 for fourth year in a row, draws more than 700 students to early morning start
Six in the morning isn’t too early to start building Spartan spirit. At least not for the more than 700 students who showed up for the pep rally hosted by Activities Director Scott Harris in the large gym Friday morning.
Parts of the rally were broadcast live by Fox 2’s morning news program, which came out to Cottleville for the fourth year in a row.
“They ask us to come out,” Mr. Harris said. “They pick eight schools per year and because of the size of our crowd, their spirit and energy, they’ve approached us four years in a row about coming out.”
Attendees were treated to multiple contests, dancing by both students and faculty members and performances from the cheerleading squads and Sensations.
“The group cheers are my favorite. Just to have seven, eight hundred kids do the cheer at one time,” Mr. Harris said. “And then the performances by all our different groups. I love watching our kids perform.”
