The force is not real
Star Wars, the long running movie franchise, is making a comeback, but the series does not always sit well with everyone
“Episode 7: The Force Awakens”, the force needs to go back to sleep, and stay asleep for a long, long time. I know there is a lot of hype surrounding the Star Wars franchise, especially around its long time run as a movie empire, but there is a time to say enough is enough. The long running film series has served its time as a science fiction masterpiece, so now is the time to see it go.
I have spent the last, I don’t even know how long, listening to my friends drone on and on about the new Star Wars movie; however, the non-stop glorification of this film has gone on for too long. The movie has been out for about a month, and people still talk about it like it is the Bible. This movie has about as big of a following as the Bible does, a following that it does not deserve. It is a movie about little spaceships flying around and does not have any entitlement to as big of a name as it has.
I do not hate Star Wars because something so trivial in my life should not take up any of my time ;however, I do have respect for the makers who took an old classic, and added the newest episode to the franchise. It is an incredible talent for a director to take an older movie franchise and provide a movie for both old and young generations to enjoy simultaneously. This is the case for Star Wars with its newest debut.
Star Wars is a franchise that is taking over the world yet again. There is no doubt that this is a movie with such a massive fan base that spans across multiple generations, but there needs to be an end to making these movies about space fights. There is no need for it to still be making movies over twenty years after its debut.
People are going to not like my opinion, and I understand it completely Star Wars is a household name; however, something this big is bound to have people who are not fans of it. The consistent talking about this movie franchise’s latest release a month after it was released is why there needs to be a stop put to this talk about “the greatest movie of all time”. This movie franchise is not timeless, and it is nearing its expiration date.

Wow. I really respect the writers for the site, but this is… trivial. Just because you aren’t a part of something fantastic, you call for the death of a beloved(rightfully so) epic. This series isn’t as successful as it is because of “little spaceships flying around” this is an epic about family, acceptance, friendship, loyalty, hope. This story spans multiple generations because what we learn from star wars is important. Now I know you have never seen a star wars film because anyone who has had the pleasure to sit through star wars comes out the other side loving it. Never judge a book by its cover. Sit down. watch episode 4. and come talk to me. I GUARANTEE you will rescind your opinion of the fan base. It is that good. And as a final note, be prepared for star wars talk the rest of your life, I’m still talking about the originals, and they came out 30 years ago. May the force be with you
