Be sure to read the very last line from the Post Dispatch:
After winning a key challenge in the midfield, Central’s Rayna Thomas quickly pushed the ball up the field to start the counterattack when she spotted fellow freshman Mariah Johnson ahead of her.
“I only saw one defender, but then I saw Mariah out of the corner of my eye, so I played the ball to the space in front of her,” Thomas said.
Johnson took a low shot from just outside the penalty area and North keeper Emily Rish made a diving stop. But the rebound popped free, allowing Thomas to follow up on the play for her eighth goal and a 1-0 Central lead just seven or so minutes into the game.
“BUT THE REBOUND POPPED FREE, ALLOWING THOMAS TO FOLLOW UP ON THE PLAY FOR HER EIGHTH GOAL OF THE SEASON…” It was beautiful, sorry you missed it FHCTODAY. 😉

Correction: The early goal was by Rayna Thomas (#7 shot in the winning goal 7 minutes into the game. Rayna passed it to Mariah, Mariah shot, the goalie went for it and it bounced back out, then Rayna Thomas Shot it in. The correct version of what happened can be found in the Post Dispatch. If you were at the game you saw the shot and heard it announced.
