Seniors go out with a win at home
As the wrestling team came together toward their season end on Jan. 24 they competed against Holt, but also honored the senior wrestlers, won some matches, had some fun, and even though they lost, it was a great night for our Spartan wrestlers.
JV fought first while the varsity warmed up, many matches were won and the wrestlers improved their records. Varsity came on the floor by running around the mat in their classic way, being led by freshman Kaden Hart.
“I’m nervous everytime, I’m the first match so as I run out that’s all I can think about and try to focus on,” Hart said.
Varsity was ready and excited to take on Holt in their last home meet. Before they began, the seniors took the floor with their parents and coaches to take a look back to the past four years and the future ahead. The weights were called, matches began and though the score would come out in Holt’s favor, all the seniors won their matches. “The team was a little lighter this year, but in terms we actually ended up doing pretty good,” senior Trevor Liggett said.
