Cheer Up

I love this picture because of the emotion it conveys. The Junior Varsity cheerleaders were all very anxious as they waited in a tiny, dark locker room to perform at regionals. They only had this one performance, so they came together and said a prayer. The girl who led the prayer is Mormon, a religion not well represented in our school, so it was really sweet to see the whole team accepting her and holding hands as a team.
I was really worried this picture wouldn’t turn out because the lighting in the locker room was atrocious. I also had to stand on a bench to get the shot. I mostly consider myself very lucky for being in the right spot, at the right angle, at the right time.
