FHC band takes second at battle of the bands

Francis Howell High hosted its third annual Battle of the Bands on Saturday, March 27. The event was a huge success  bringing in over one thousand dollars. Every penny was donated to Haiti. There were over three hundred people that attended the event, including FHC’s very own junior Ian Vaughn.

“I crowd surfed like a wildebeest,” said Vaughn. “It was worth every penny. The bands were all wicked sweet.”

There were seven bands competing in the competition, most of which consist of students from Francis Howell High, but there was one band from FHC called 220 Freedom. Junior John Gee is the leader of 220 Freedom along with his band member Travis Sunderland.

“All of the bands were pretty rockin’,” said Gee. “I’m happy with getting second.”

The winning band, The Great McManus, sporting the heavy thrash genre  was granted with a small trophy with a guitar atop.
