Detention is now open and available for students to serve their detentions.

Detentions are every morning at 6:30-7:15.

You may also serve detentions everyday at 2:30 – you must report to the cafeteria on time. Or, you may serve detentions on Saturday from 9:00 – noon.

 

ART CLUB: There will be a brief meeting after school on Thursday at 2:30 in room 243. We need input on our t-shirt design. (11/10)

 

Student Council members – this is a reminder that there is a meeting on Thursday a.m. ; you need to bring your lock-in permission forms with you to the meeting, please. (11/10)

 

Congratulations to OUR Francis Howell Central Boys Swim/Dive team captured the FIRST GAC Conference Championship in school history. The team finished with 343 total points, beating out 2nd place finisher Francis Howell by 10 points in dramatic fashion.

OUR Spartans also finished off the most successful season in school history with an AMAZING 16-1 record overall record in dual/tri-meets.

Also, Zach Rogers set a new GAC Conference record in the 200 yard Freestyle. (11/8)

“Do you like to dance?! Do you like to challenge yourself by trying new things?! Come tryout for Howell centrals award winning winter guard. We are a competitive dance and flag team that competes all over Missouri. Clinics are the 15th and 17th from 6 pm to 9 pm. Try outs are the 22nd at 6pm. We will meet all three days in the band room. Hope to see you there. ” (11/15)

 

We had 8 of our band students make the St. Louis Metro 8 District Honor Bands which is quite an accomplishment. Those 8 students were: Jazmyn Burnitt-Erp, Martina Meng, Matt Cochran, Elliot Russo, David Aubuchon, Dominic Bianchi, Jacob Ficht, and Amy Sweeney. Congratulations to these fine musicians for their hard work and accomplishments! (11/9)

 

Spartaneers and Student Ambassadors: There will be an activity planning meeting for all Student Ambassadors and Spartaneers in the Library on Wednesday, November 9th at 1:35 pm. See Mrs. Rigby or Mr. Miller if you cannot make this meeting. (11/9)

 

Book Club sign-ups for the 2nd quarter have already begun. This quarter’s selection is Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, November 30th during 6th hour. Stop by and sign-up and check out a copy of Shiver today! (11/30)

Confused about the whole idea of paying for college? Don’t have a clue what FAFSA means or is about? Don’t feel alone. FHC would like to invite all students and their parents to an evening dedicated to an understanding of the ins and outs of the college financial aid process.

Francis Howell North has challenged us for bragging rights in our canned food drive. Bring those cans to your first hour teacher from November 7 to November 11. At FHC, the first hour class with the highest average number of cans per student wins a donut party! It’s a battle with the Knights! Go Spartans. Cans will be picked up on Friday, November 11. Seniors – Jostens will be back on campus Monday November 7th , during lunches to take final orders for Graduation Announcements, along with Cap & Gown Orders.

Don’t miss out on this final turn in and have to pay the late fees after this date.

Still needing a packet to place your order?? – see Mrs. Heidenreich in the main office for an extra packet. (11/7)

 

The nurses are collecting PINK Yoplait yogurt lids. Yoplait will donate 10 cents per lid collected to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We will be collecting the lids until Dec. 9th. Please help by supporting us in our effort to fight Breast Cancer. (12/9)

 

Attention any Junior or Senior interested in nursing with a cumulative 2.75 GPA can apply for a spot to shadow a nurse at Chamberlain College of Nursing. Dates available are November 2, 2011, Jan 25, March 7, and May 2, 2012. See Mrs. Breuer in guidance for the application.
