Detention is now open and available for students to serve their detentions.

Detentions are every morning at 6:30-7:15.

You may also serve detentions everyday at 2:30 – you must report to the cafeteria on time. Or, you may serve detentions on Saturday from 9:00 – noon.

 

The spartan boys swimming and diving team wrapped up their best season in school history this weekend with a 14th place finish overall in the state meet. Sophomore Zach Rogers swam to two new school records in the 200free and the 100 free, taking 9th in both events and along with Senior Andrew smith (who took 11th in the 100 breast) helped the 200 medley relay to a 7th place finish along with senior Ryan Macy and sophomore Derek Mielke. Congratulations to all spartan swimmers on a great season! (11/14)

 

Our very own Culinary Arts Classes will be competing against our sister schools in the 4th Annual Iron Chef Competition this Tuesday.

It will be held at Francis Howell High School beginning at 2:30 PM, with plate up at 5:30 PM when the Judging will begin. Family, Faculty, friends, and class mates who want to cheer on our FHC team are warmly welcome. (11/15)

 

There will be a National Honor Society meeting for all members on Tuesday Nov. 15th at 6:55 a.m. in room 205 and at 2:25 in room 203. (11/15)

The FRESHvoices will meet Thursday, 11-17, after school

 

9th graders- are you looking to get involved or learn how to become a leader at FHC? Join the FRESHvoices club in order to learn how to succeed, and have some fun at the same time. We will be meeting in the guidance office room C @ 2:30 this Thursday, 11-10, as well as next Thursday. (11/17)

 

“Do you like to dance?! Do you like to challenge yourself by trying new things?! Come tryout for Howell centrals award winning winter guard. We are a competitive dance and flag team that competes all over Missouri. Clinics are the 15th and 17th from 6 pm to 9 pm. Try outs are the 22nd at 6pm. We will meet all three days in the band room. Hope to see you there. ” (11/15)

 

Book Club sign-ups for the 2nd quarter have already begun. This quarter’s selection is Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, November 30th during 6th hour. Stop by and sign-up and check out a copy of Shiver today! (11/30)

 

The nurses are collecting PINK Yoplait yogurt lids. Yoplait will donate 10 cents per lid collected to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We will be collecting the lids until Dec. 9th. Please help by supporting us in our effort to fight Breast Cancer. (12/9)

 

Attention any Junior or Senior interested in nursing with a cumulative 2.75 GPA can apply for a spot to shadow a nurse at Chamberlain College of Nursing. Dates available are November 2, 2011, Jan 25, March 7, and May 2, 2012. See Mrs. Breuer in guidance for the application.
