Band crushes competition

As school begins to fall into a routine, so does the FHC marching band. One of many more competitions to come was completed Sept. 15.

Senior Matthew Cochran, the front ensemble section leader, thought that the first competition went over well.

“I thought it was excellent. The group did very well and better than I expected,” Cochran said. “Overall, we were very successful, and we have a clear direction to head towards.”

Band Director Nathan Griffin agrees wholeheartedly with the positive feedback the band has been getting.

“It was a great performance for our first competition,” Griffin said. “We got fourth place in our class.”

The next competition is Sept. 29, when the band will be heading to Lafayette to perform their Foundry/Pink Floyd show.
