The best AD, literally
On Nov. 7, Athletic Director Scott Harris received the Athletic Director of the year in the St. Louis Area for presented by Missouri Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association (MIAAA).
“I’m ecstatic for him,” said Mrs. Tammy Cissell. “Knowing how hard he works and everything he does, he puts his heart and soul into his job and into FHC.”
MIAAA works with Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHAA), the governing body for high schools across Missouri, the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association(NIAAA), which works with athletic administrators throughout the country, and National Federation of State High School Associations(NFHS), which writes the rules of competition for most high school sports and activities throughout the nation.
“I feel very honored,” said Mr. Harris. “I was voted on by my peers. It brings recognition for me, Francis Howell Central, and the school district as a whole.”
Mr. Harris is now in the running for AD of the year for all of Missouri. The organization, MIAAA, has eight different regions to help oversee that everything goes well. There is an AD of the year selected for each region, and the winners are then in the run for AD of the year for Missouri, which will be announced in early April at the State AD Conference.
“I couldn’t do it without my amazing assistant, Mrs. Tammy Cissell, and all of the coaches, directors and sponsors,” Harris said. “They allow me to do my job successfully.”
