Friday night truly capped off my high school experience. The rush of emotion I had when Cooper scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter was indescribable. I was jumping up and down like a maniac; high-fiving all my nearby friends. I probably looked like an idiot, but I didn’t care.
I was surrounded by hundreds of my fellow classmates, all of us celebrating and enjoying the moment. It was finally real, MY class, the senior class of 2011, had made it’s first lasting impact on Francis Howell Central.
The final minutes of that game were a blur, the rush of excitement had taken over. I wasn’t even thinking about what was acceptable or not when I joined my classmates onto the track to await the clock to hit zero and the rush onto the field that followed gave me a since of pride I had never experienced before.
My class had finally made an impression. My class had won us our first homecoming victory in five years. My class had brought the school together.
The other memories of high school may fade, but Friday, September 24th, 2010 will forever be sketched into my brain.
