Cultures collide at International Night

As students step into the building, a distinct drumbeat echoes as the gathering crowd huddles together, standing in a tight circle.

Students, some foreign language students and others not, watch as a Capoeira group performs its skills and techniques.

International Night, hosted by the International Club on April 5, started off with this performance before letting attendees choose from a variety of activities including crafts, a cakewalk, dancing and learning to perform capoeira. Foreign language students also had the chance to earn extra credit by going around to each booth and sampling the international food or participating in the offered activity.

At 8 p.m., member of International Club began deconstructing the cafeteria after the two hour event came to a close.
