Sadness makes way to the cheerleaders

On Friday, Sept. 30, the varsity cheerleaders stood beside the varsity pommers and cheered on the Spartans as they played against Fort Zumwalt West. Although the football team suffered a great loss against the Jaguars, senior Jessica Moore felt her team never gave up on the Spartans.

“Even though we didn’t win, it was still a great night,” said Moore. “We messed up a little during halftime but for the most part, I believe we did alright.”

Moore is one of the five seniors who gave her final homecoming game performance on Friday, and although she said it was an exciting experience, Moore admits that it also brought some gloominess to the sidelines.

“It’s exciting to be a senior but knowing it was my last homecoming game made it really sad,” said Moore, “At the same time though, it made for a special experience and overall, we had a great night.”
