NYT best-selling author Sabaa Tahir visits FHC
Former journalist will speak to English classes about writing process and take questions from the audience.
Main Street books is providing this opportunity for free during third hour on Sept. 14. Ms. Tahir is a fantasy/dystopian writer. Her parents are Pakistani immigrants who owned a small hotel in the desert. She’s noted in interviews that the racism they faced and growing up in an environment of transients helped define her identity and the adversity facilitated her love of reading. She eventually became a copy editor at the Washington Post’s foreign desk. It is there where the idea for her popular series came from. Ms. Tahir will be promoting the second book in this series was released on Aug. 30.
