Taking it easy

Badminton class allows students to enjoy an easy, fun PE hour

Head above the net, Madison Altmansberger-Lane argues with her opponents about a play call. Soon after, a decision was made, and the game resumed as normal.

Students played badminton for a unit in Jennifer Denny’s ninth grade gym class. The game consists of a racquet, birdie, net, and opponent. The game is considered moderately easy, with no particular skill set.

Most ninth grade students who participate in this activity enjoy the game. They appreciate the simplicity and straightforwardness of this sport.

“I’m bad at every other sport,”Josie Soto said. She likes badminton because, like many others, enjoys the consistency and easiness of the sport.
