On Tuesday the Spartans went head-to-head with the Trojans for Troy Buchanan. Neither of the teams managed to score a goal, although Central had many chances. The teams went into the first overtime, still neither managed to get a goal. Four minutes were left in double overtime when the man wearing the captain band for the game, senior Nic Powers scored a golden goal, winning the game.
Following the game, junior Chance Dunlap was named the man of the match, for helping keep possession for the Spartans. On Thursday, the Spartans will be playing the Knights at home. Powers predicts that the Spartans will again win.
“I think we will win but it’ll be a good game because they will be playing their hardest,” Powers said.
According to senior Kevin Hunkins, they have been practicing harder than ever.
“We want to get our rank higher,” Hunkins said explaining why the practices are getting harder and harder.
