Cheerleading goes to state

This past Sunday the team laced up their shoes, grabbed its pom poms and stepped out on stage to perform. For some it would be their last time stepping on that stage, draped in blue and silver. Seniors Danielle Austin, Renee Sanford, Nicole Kuhlmann, and Alyssia Mcgoogan enjoyed competing at the state competition this year.

“I’m really glad I got to go this year considering it’s my last year and we didn’t go last year,” said Kuhlmann.

The seniors, along with the rest of the squad, pulled out a great performance, placing fourth overall. Although they faced some challenges along the road to state, the team managed to come together and deliver their performance.

“I think it was really challenging because the teams we went up against were really good” said junior Julie Groeblinghoff.

At the annual State competition the “best of the best” come out to compete. It may have been challenging this year, but these cheerleaders competed like spartans.
