Sensations receive opportunity to showcase talent

Tomorrow night, FHSD’s dance teams will dance in the first-ever FHSD Dance Showcase. The 6 teams that will dance, made up of each FHSD school’s varsity and JV squads, include FHC’s own two teams. Francis Howell North’s coach, Ms. Tammy Rokita, had the idea for the event; however, the showcase will be hosted at FHC.

“It’s kind of like a big family and friends night,” said senior Alicia Pavia, the Sensations’ captain.

The Sensations will dance their jazz and hip hop competition routines. The other FHSD teams have already seen them dance these routines, which they will perform when they compete against North and Howell at Nationals.

“It’s a chance to practice with our biggest competition and an opportunity to have a serious competition atmosphere,” said Pavia.

The dance showcase will premiere at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Then, the teams move on to compete on Saturday at St. Charles High School.
