Local bands open for national acts

Those of you reading this who consider yourselves to be fans of pop-punk better pay attention. There’s a huge pop-punk lineup coming our way soon at Fubar. Among the bands playing are Far From Proper, Home and Away, The Weekend Routine, Divided By Friday, Drop Avenue, and With the Punches.

Now here’s the really exciting news: With the Punches is signed with Doghouse Records (who released my favorite band Say Anything’s first album) and Divided By Friday is signed with Hopeless Records (who produced acts such as All Time Low and A Day to Remember). These bands are on tour right now and they’re having local bands open for them. This is huge for local bands because they get to showcase their stuff to a larger crowd that they may not have played for before tonight. I’m excited just to be going to it and you should be too. It’s a great lineup and a great way to spend a Saturday night.

As I said the show is at Fubar on Feb. 16. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30. Tickets are $12 and it’s an all ages show. I can personally vouch for The Weekend Routine. They’re a great band that puts on great performances and they’re some of the coolest cats I know and seeing as that they’re just one of the openers, you and I know this show is going to be sweet. I’ll be at Fubar on Feb 16. Where will you be?
