Band director Nathan Griffin hosted two St. Louis musicians to work with the school bands in late April
Grammy Award-winning trumpet player Keyon Harrold and drummer/record label owner Kimberly Thompson visited the jazz band to offer advice and share their experiences from life in the music industry. Both musicians, coming from St.Louis, have made it their mission to return to their roots and share how exactly they worked their way up in the industry to aspiring, young musicians.
“They worked a lot with us on our improvisation solos and the importance of playing with confidence,” senior Michael Lippincott said.
