Loss doesn’t offset soccer team
The varsity soccer team has continued the season strong, winning 3 out of 4 games over the past week. The team beat Hickmann High, Cape Central High and Kirkwood High in a tournament last weekend.
However, the boys suffered their first lost of the season at the hands of Fort Zumwalt West Tuesday night by the score of 3-2. Mike Shepard and Corey Scharf contributed goals in the losing effort.
But losing a game isn’t necessarily bad.
“The loss hurt us a bit, but it helped us learn what we needed to work on to improve,” said junior goalie Michael Caldwell.
The team is looking forward to its next contest Thursday night when they travel to Timberland High to take on the Wolves.
