Tutoring offered by math department
For students who are not happy with their grades in their math classes, math tutoring is offered from the math department at the following times:
Mornings: 6:15 – 7:15 a.m.
Tuesdays and Fridays with Mr. Miller
Wednesdays and Thursdays with Mr. Stumpf
Afternoons: 2:25 – 3:25 p.m.
Mondays and Tuesdays with Mrs. Hessel
Wednesday with Mrs. Gubany (1:35-2:30)
Thursday with Mrs. Gubany
According to sophomore Tyler Deblaze, math tutoring has been very helpful for his math grade.
“My teacher made me go to math tutoring at first, and now I go twice a week. I would deffinitley suggest it to anyone having problems. I just got my test back, and I got an eighty percent, which is a huge improvement from what I had,” Deblaze said.
However, while math tutoring has improved test scores for students, it takes more than one session according to Mr. Stumpf.
“The tutoring can make a big difference, but only if a student attends it consistently and work while they are there,” said Mr. Stumpf.
Some students were unaware of the help the math department has offered for years.
“I had no idea there was math tutoring available,” said freshmen Austin Mason.
Anyone is welcome to math tutoring, just come willing to learn.
