In the upcoming months, National Honor Society members will have a variety of options to participate in for their service hours.
“We have a lot going on this semester that it gives a chance for students to pick the service project they really want to invest in,” NHS sponsor Dena Rulo said.
The upcoming opportunities include an extra date for members to go and play bingo at Breeze Point Retirement Center on April 23 from 1 – 3 p.m. There are limited spots for this event, so members should only sign up if they are 100 percent committed according to NHS sponsors. Also for the event, members should bring a small prize for the winners,
For those who want to participate in Cottleville’s mission clean stream project on April 2, those people need to fill out a waiver form and turn it in to room 205 before the event.
Besides the two service projects, there other volunteer and fundraiser options available. There will be a TJ’s Pizza fundraiser this month. Members are still needed for NHS induction committee and the teacher appreciation committee; for more details, see Mrs. Rulo.
Some last few reminders are that driver’s release forms will need to be turned before points are due, which is on April 15. The scholarship applications still need to be turned in to Mrs. Rulo by March 3 in room 203 and officer applications to Mrs. Tiffany MacMillan in room 205 as well.
