Cross country teams are successful at opening meet

The boys and girls cross country teams started off the season on Monday at Quail Ridge Park, with a successful meet according to Coach Michelle Breuer.

“Senior Sydney Voss finished highest for the girls with a seventh place. The next runner was freshman Brittany Kennedy,” said Breuer.

The boys team also came out with several achievements. They finished in third place as a whole team and senior, Josh McKinley came in first place.

Although the boys team placed third, the season starter was an easier meet with only a two mile run.

“I wasn’t surprised by anything, but I was very happy that the guys places third,” said Breuer.

The cross country team’s next meet is the First Capital Invitational meet on Friday September 2 at McNair Park at 4p.m.
