Racing to the End

Through the adversities and trials, the cross country team is still able to enjoy their time competing with each other. On Oct. 12 the girls and boys team had a successful conference meet. The girls placed 1st as a team. With Reese McDevitt, Laney Parmeley, Camrin Watkins, and Noel Rice all placing in the top 10 in the south division. The boys placed 5th, with Ezra Bailey placing 10th in the South Division. Dax Perry commented on the closeness of the team.

After spending a whole season together he enjoys bonding with “a group of people who do not really know each other [that] can come together and bond as a whole team” Perry said.

The team is now preparing for districts, trying to qualify for the state meet held on Nov. 4. The girls are looking to place top 4 at districts to send the team to state and compete at the big stage in Columbia.  Make sure to cheer on for your Spartans as their season is coming to an end.
