On May 4, 2026, the Francis Howell Central Spartans baseball team faced off against the DeSmet Jesuit Spartans. Central won 6-4 in a thunderous game against a private rival. Junior Mason Boughton tells how he pulled his weight as pitcher to secure the win.
“My main thing was just attacking the zone and letting our defense play, because I knew our offense would score enough runs to win.”
Boughton started the game and was relieved at the top of the 5th Inning. The Spartans went on to play the next day against Troy Buchanon.
