On May 13, junior Luke Hemby grabs the fence while he watches his teammates bat. While in the dugout, multiple teammates cheered on the person batting, lifting team spirits.
The varsity baseball team had a game away against Fort Zumwalt East. The team left with a victory having an ending score of 12-9 on May 13. Junior Cooper Pearson gave insight into the daily workings of practice and the effort they put in every day.
“Yeah I’d say we definitely put in a lot of work behind scenes that people don’t really think about, ” said Pearson.
For Pearson and other players on the team, baseball is a symbol of their hard work and what it takes to be a Spartan. They can be seen at districts against Liberty on May 19.
