The Varsity soccer team held the district finale soccer game at FHC on November 10. This was a make-or-break game for the Spartans, as a win would have sent them to state; however, they lost 0-2 against Francis Howell High School. The team prepared for the game, aware of its significance and importance. Senior Matthew Gourley says that the team huddle was important in boosting team morale.
“We were really trying to hype ourselves up. We knew it was a big game. It was a big moment, so we were trying to make sure we were ready for the pressure, the game, the environment that we were gonna have around us, and make sure we were ready and stay focused and locked in, ready for the game.”
That is the end of the Spartan soccer season. The Spartans will begin soccer again next fall.
