Softball loses momentum as season nears end

The varsity softball team suffered its fifth straight loss since its victory against Fort Zumwalt West on Sept. 20, falling to Hickman by a score of 2-15 last Saturday night.

The streak has consisted of losses against Francis Howell North, Lafayette, Nerinx Hall, Pattonville and now Hickman, as the team has seemed to lose all momentum it previously had, yet the players have kept their composure throughout the tough stretch of games, according to Coach Brenda Gavril.

“[The] kids continue to work hard towards becoming a better team,” Coach Gavril said.

The team has one remaining game on the schedule against Timberland this Tuesday night, hoping to get a victory before the district tournament, which begins Wednesday Oct. 5. The team is currently unsure what it will be positioned at, according to Coach Gavril.
