Youth in Government students in preparation
Members of Youth in Government (YIG) are now preparing for their culminating event of the year, the Jefferson City convention.
“My favorite part of YIG is being in the capital because it’s so cool having almost free reign,” junior Kyle Pyatt said.
Pyatt is in YIG’s broadcasting department, which discusses what news is going to be reported in the Jefferson City convention.
According to Ms. Hoffman, the club’s sponsor, the legislative branch of YIG is learning parliamentary procedures and debate techniques, as well as debating bills to prepare for the convention, which takes place Nov 10-12.
“Anything that’s interesting is part of YIG,” Pyatt said. “Students should join because it’s really awesome.”
