Last week, Student Council handed over a $5000 check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a seriously ill girl at the pep assembly. This was an over whelming experience that felt really rewarding to do according to the StuCo president Sara Giocolo.
“I’ve never personally donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but it felt really good to hand them over the check with the StuCo staff at the pep assembly. It was nice that we could grant a whole wish to the sick girl,” Giocolo said.
They StuCo team raised a lot more money then expected for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and hope to do the same for their other upcoming events. Something they have coming up next week has to do with collecting money for the National drive for Lymphom and Leukemia research and treatments. This will be going on Feb. 21-24, they will be collecting donations from students during their lunches.
Another upcoming event that is sure to bring a smile to everyone’s face is the dog show. StuCo will be hosting a dog show for anyone who wants to watch. They are trying to raise money for the Cotteville Fire Department to train rescue dogs.
