    Looking forward to the future

You know that ooey-gooey feeling you have when you like someone and you realize that they like you back — you feel like you have been transported back to the sixth grade? That’s how my Easter break went.

You see, I had mentioned quite a few blogs back that I kind-of, sort-of, maybe had begun to like someone a teensy, weensy bit. And, well — he likes me back.

To tell you the truth, I’m still kind of shocked about the entire thing. I’ve never been one to expect much from the opposite sex; it always seemed the more you expect the less you get. So, I had gotten used to being satisfied with my #foreveralone status. I didn’t expect much, didn’t get much and just kind of floated on by with my life.

Okay, that sounds a little bit sad. But, it never felt that way. Sure, my life was never the most exciting thing, but it wasn’t bad. And it’s not like I was ever alone — I always had Caitlan around.

So, the fact that I have both low expectations and high standards, I didn’t think it was going to be possible to actually start something anytime soon. Sure, I had had some dwindling hopes, but I never really considered these school-girl fantasies anything concrete. I just never wanted to get my hopes up.

    But, this weekend changed everything.

For the first time in God knows how so long I’m excited about this boy. I’m excited about the possibilities and I’m excited that he genuinely likes me.

I just have a feeling that this is going to be a fun ride. And I can’t wait.
