Season begins for girls tennis
As the girls tennis season comes up shortly they prepare for their first match on August 23.
Arriving at the beautiful tennis courts the girls tennis team is preparing for the upcoming season. Their first matches will be on Aug. 23 against Fort Zumwalt South. All players new and old are preparing from 9-12.
With four seniors on the team there will be tough competition for the position of team captain. Only two of these seniors however, have been on varsity since freshman year; they are senior Maddie Wilson and Adams.
“The biggest thing this year will be team bonding, we have a lot of new girls on the team,” Adams said.
With the mix of talents on this team they hope to beat rivals Francis Howell and Francis Howell North. Like any sport it is important for all of the players to be able to get along and know the others strengths and weaknesses. Being able to bond with the new players will give the tennis team more of a team feeling and help defeat their rivals.
“I think we will do really well this year with the four seniors and the new talent we have,” Adams said.
