Team Chemistry Leads to a Win
In a close game to the last few minutes, our varsity boys soccer team defeated St. Dominic with a score of 2-1. The home game took place on Oct. 14 over fall break. Going into the second half, the Spartans were down 1-0 as result of a penalty kick. However, they played hard and scored two goals within the last 5 minutes of the game, pulling out a win.
The game was thrilling for both spectators and players. Senior captain Sam Newton says, “The fact that we were down so late and we were able to come back and pull out a win got everyone hyped up and gave us a push to go harder.”
The season is coming to a close as the team travels to Francis Howell North on Oct. 24, and then takes on Lafayette at home for senior night on Oct. 25.
