German Growth
Beginning a new language is never easy. Most students in the FHSD district opt to take Spanish or French; German is chosen by few. While the German department has grown over the past few years and even added a level four this year, there are still only about one hundred students enrolled in a German class at FHC. The sole German teacher at Central, Melissa Dumas, has high hopes for the German program in future years.
“My hope is that it grows and that it continues on to level five,” said Dumas. “I hope the numbers continue to get stronger.”
The German classes will continue to strengthen their language skills and hopefully grow in numbers in the future.
